Ms. Percy is a leading player in the world-wide reach of International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) to meet the goals of the VISION 2020-the Right to Sight, a global initiative that aims to eliminate avoidable blindness by the year 2020. It was launched in 1999 by the World Health Organization together with the more than 20 international non-governmental organizations involved in eye care and prevention and management of blindness that comprise the IAPB.
Ms. Percy has made significant impact on Eye Samaritans International. She organized all of the workshops sponsored by ESI in Russia (2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016), Georgia, Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary and Romania to help ESI educate physicians and healthcare personnel in these countries. She made all the travel arrangements for ESI’s educational programs such as the training of a pediatric ophthalmologist from Moscow and Kyiv in Hyderabad, India in 2013; the training of a Russian pediatric vitreoretinal surgeon in Royal Oaks, Michigan in June 2013; and many other ESI activities in Russia and Eastern Europe.
Peter Ackland

Mr. Ackland played a vital role in the international growth and development of ESI and our entry into International Agency for the Prevention (IAPB), an affiliate of the World Health Organization. Tremendously supportive of Eye Samaritans International since its inception, and he was instrumental in helping Eye Samaritans International obtain funding from Lavelle Fund in New York.
For seven years Mr. Ackland did a superb job at overseeing the activities of IAPB, which connects with all organizations in the world who seek to combat blindness in children and adults. Working for Sightsavers in the beginning Mr. Ackland has an impressive career in international development blindness, developing eye health services and the elimination of avoidable blindness and visual impairment.
John Trevelyan
Fundraising and Partnership Development Manager

Mr. Trevelyan oversees fundraising efforts for International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness. He has been instrumental in helping Eye Samaritans International in our Romania and Ukraine projects. Mr. Trevelyan assisted in transferring funds for the ophthalmic lasers sent to Romania and Ukraine. In addition, he helped IAPB obtain a large ROP grant that enabled IAPB (inspired Eye Samaritans International, and the contacts with Romania were made in Budapest at the symposium sponsored by ESI) to establish programs throughout Romania. Mr. Trevelyan is a frequent aid in problems relating to development and fundraising as he draws from his vast experience.
